Case Study

winter 2025

DESCRIPTION

Our subject was “Honoring the Indigenous Education Protocol”. We were three students from the first year, two from the second, and two from the third year.

The students from the first year decided to work on the creation of 3D items and characters, as well as working on some parts of the edition of the video. The second years were doing some illustrations such as the “Zoogle” logo and the code behind the websites. As for the third years, we took care of the graphics and the code.

My main task was to code with one of the second year students. My main focus was to make the websites responsive, and improve some code to make sure it would not cause any issues in the future.

Tools used:

Other than coding, we used illustrator, blender, procreate, premiere to create this project.

CHALLENGES

I had a couple of challenges for this project. I believe that communication was a big challenge for this team. I had to find and communicate with my team to know what was my work.

Once I knew what to do, it was complicated to work on the code. Working on the code with two different people constantly uploading different versions, tends to be frustrating. When we found the solution on how to work around each other, my main issue was updating my part of the code without messing the other person's code. In the end we managed to work on this project together.

SOLUTIONS

For the communication issue, I talked about what I was doing and made sure to help those who needed it. In the end everyone pulled up their weight.

In terms of the coding part, I decided to communicate with my teammate. Make sure that we were not modifying the same file. I made sure to communicate what was changed, and what could be improved. I tried to help the other student who was coding, but unfortunately, he was trying to implement some code that I didn’t quite understand.

FINAL PRODUCT

As for the final product, we placed 3d objects on a scene, and once you watch the video, these 3d objects will have some colours and you will be educated about the indigenous.
